So we start the 3 game series against the Braves. If I remember correctly we lost the first game of a 3 game series, then won the last 2. That seemed to be our MO before J-roll go injured.
Jason Hayward: He can be as dangerous as Ryan Howard or Albert Pujols. He can blast home runs any time of the day.
Philadelphia Phillies: Looking to stay in first place in the NL East. They fell after the Mets, about a month ago knocked them out. Had the largest lead in a division of any team on May 17, with a 5 game division lead. Batting a .186 and hasn't homered in 54 innings, which, is a seaon high. Ryan Howard is a 4 for 27 (.148) with 9 strikeouts and 1 RBI. Chase Utley is 4 for 30 (.133) also with one RBI.
"I have no idea why this is happening," Howard said.
"We've never used excuses and we're not going to start now," manager Charlie Manuel said. "We'll come out of it at some point. It might be tomorrow or it might be the next day, but this team will get back to where we were."
Atlanta Braves: Braves have won 10 of their last 12 games. They have a 15-4 record in May, which is the best in Major League Baseball.
"We still have 100-plus games to go," said Chipper Jones, who had a tie breaking RBI single in the eighth inning of Sunday's 5-2 win over Pittsburgh. "We're playing well. (The Phillies) are struggling a little bit. Let's just go out and play them. Have fun. Do the same things we've been doing for the last month. It's not do or die."
